Gerardo has been a partner at the law firm Cariola, Díez, Pérez-Cotapos & Cía. and has served on the boards of several companies and institutions. He has also been involved with organizations such as Fundación para el Progreso, Educa UC, and the Observatorio Judicial. In 2018, he served as Minister of Education during the second government of President Sebastián Piñera, bringing his strong liberal convictions and extensive experience in business and public policy to the role.
