Born in Berlin in 1921, Rudi was just 17 when he fled Nazi Germany and found refuge in British Palestine. He became a kibbutz pioneer and trained with the Haganah before joining the British Army during World War II. He served in North Africa, Italy, and Greece, including the Battle of Anzio and the liberation of Rome, and later worked in British military intelligence. In 1948, he came to Chile, where he reunited with his family, rebuilt his life and established himself as a renowned interior designer. Rudi is more than a survivor. He is a witness, a protagonist, and a keeper of memory. His story is one of courage, resilience, freedom, and the enduring power of the human spirit.
